Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA)

The full force of FOISA came into being on 01 January 2005. The Act gives the general public a right of access to recorded information held by Scottish Public Authorities.

Although the North East Safety Camera Partnership (NESCAMP) does not qualify as a Public Authority, its member partners do.  Therefore, in the interests of openness, NESCAMP will act as much as possible like a public body in relation to the Act.

NESCAMP is not required by the Act to establish a publication scheme but the intention is to make available as much public interest information as possible via this website.  Should the information that you are looking for not be contained within the website, contact nescamp@grampian.police.uk or via 01224 306684 (your request must ultimately be in writing) and we will respond within 20 working days in accordance with the Act.

Please note:

  • When requesting information, please include your name, address (email or postal) and telephone number, the information you would like to access and how you would like it provided (e.g. email or hardcopy – paper or CD etc.)

  • If NESCAMP holds the information requested, we will provide it.  If we do not hold the information we will do our best to assist by advising you which agency may hold it.

  • Most information will be made available free of charge, however if a fee does apply in relation to a request, we will inform you in writing and release the information following receipt of payment.

  • There may be occasions where information requested may not be able to be released in part or at all under the Act’s agreed exemptions.  This will be confirmed in writing in each instance.

  • We will withhold personal information under the Data Protection Act 1998.

If you are dissatisfied with a response given, you have the right to appeal by writing to us and, if still dissatisfied, to then contact the Scottish Information Commissioner at 01334 464610 or via enquiries@itspublicknowledge.info .  As NESCAMP is not a Public Authority, any subsequent successful appeal directed to the Scottish Information Commissioner would involve the appropriate member Partner and not NESCAMP directly.
